Delicious, Lip-smacking, sumptuous and surely a slimmer version of our regular Pizza sans the bread… Its literally a melting pot of loads of flavoursome Pizza ingredients come together to create this delectable Italian twist!

The reason it works like magic across all ages… very simple…bcoz its totally customizable including the accompaniments depending on the flavours or calories you desire.

It’s been around for a pretty long time in my house and believe me…the experience of those who managed to dig at it….has always been nothing of short of WOW!!! There have actually been some embarrassing times for underestimated consumption.

Whether you serve it as an appetizer, cocktail snack, mains or even your contribution to pot luck…be rest assured it will assume all roles with utmost élan!

Totally fuss free to make as well…as the name suggests simply layer all the ingredients in an oven worthy bowl or a flat tray…the more adventurous ones can also bake it in a bread bowl!! Just in case you are running short of time… don’t worry, its absolutely not a problem…simply use store-bought pizza sauce and voila you are ready to start assembling. Non-veg lovers can create one of the international bestsellers by adding pepperoni slices for that added flavour!

Layered Pizza Dip

Ingredients for the Layered Pizza Dip

(1 cup = 250 ml) (1 tbsp = 15 ml)

1 cup Cream cheese or Amul cheese spread
2-3 tbsp Finely chopped spring onions
¾ th cup – 1 cup Pizza sauce (recipe follows) (You could use store bought too)
2-3 tbsp Black olives chopped
2-3 tbsp Sundried tomatoes (in oil) chopped
A handful Basil leaves, chopped
2-3 tbsp Green capsicum chopped
Oregano to taste
Chilli flakes to taste
½ cup – 1 cup Cheddar cheese grated
To serve Pita bread slices, toasted lightly

Ingredients for Pizza Sauce (make 1 cup)

(1 cup = 250 ml) (1 tbsp = 15 ml)

6-7 nos Large tomatoes
4-5 Garlic cloves, crushed
5-6 Basil leaves
1-2 tbsp Olive oil
A pinch Keya Oregano seasoning
Sugar to taste
Keya Chilli flakes to taste
Salt to taste

Instructions for Pizza sauce

1. Boil the tomatoes in water for 8-10 minutes until the skin peels off.
2. Switch of the flame. Discard the water. Peel the tomatoes and puree. Strain through a sieve.
3. Heat the olive oil in a pan. Add the crushed garlic and sauté until the raw smell disappears.
4. Add the puree and cook on medium flame. Add the basil, salt, sugar, Keya oregano and chilli flakes.
5. Let it boil for 8-10 minutes until the liquid thickens and reduces.
6. Use as required.

Instructions for the Layered Pizza Dip

1. Mix the cream cheese or cheese spread with the finely chopped spring onions.
2. In an oven, proof bowl spread the cream cheese mix at the bottom. Over it spread the pizza sauce.

3. Then add a layer of chopped green capsicum. Then follow it with sundried tomatoes, olives and basil leaves.

4. Cover the mixture with grated cheddar cheese.

5. Season on top with Keya oregano and chilli flakes.

 

6. Bake in a preheated hot oven (at 200ºC) for 10-12 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles.

7. Serve this dip warm with toasted pita bread triangles.
